A pleasant texture for my fingertips. I'm thinking, in particular, of the two (obvious) fragmented works that are driving my interest in the fragment form: Shaviro's Connected and Barthes' A Lover's Discourse. I have just picked up a copy of Roland Barthes' A Lover's Discourse from the library. Everything about these pieces to me is just beautiful. Even the slight sense of loneliness and nostalgia, the sense of yearning each phrase portrays. Cause me to be loved by the one I love (the other), to know that writing compensates for nothing, sublimates nothing, that it is precisely there where you are not – this is the beginning of writing. The book is plain and black, a little scuffed, especially at the corners. Boka er full av litterære referanser, noe jeg liker veldig godt, og herved videre til poenget: Mens Madeleine forelsker seg i Leonard og alt skjer, leser hun Barthes A Lover's Discourse: Fragments. Roland Barthes, A Lover's Discourse: Fragments. The cover is thick card, textured.
